Aussie Icons

Some of the world's most iconic wines have come out of Australia, from the ground breaking, multi-regional blend of Penfolds Grange, the rich and powerful Torbrecks or the infamous Cabernet Sauvignon blends from Henschke. Shiraz has become the most iconic variety in the country, but Cabernet Sauvignon and Rhone blends have also played an important role in stamping Australia's mark on the list of history's greatest wines. Many of Australia's historic, great wines have come from the Barossa Valley, where the dry, sun baked plains and ancient vines combine to create a style that is rarely found outside Australia and helped to put the country's wines on the map. McLaren Vale has also played its part historically with some of the Australia's oldest family producers still in existence, and Heathcote is home to some modern classics, but it is also the newer regions like Margaret River and Tasmania that are beginning to contribute to the future legends of Australian wine.
