98 Points - James Suckling "Intense aromas of white pineapple, lemon peel, white peaches and stones with a seashell undertone. Full-bodied yet still agile and vivid, showing beautiful mouthfeel and length. Salty at the end. Love the finish. Pure and unique. One of Tuscany's top whites from the island of Giglio. Made from ansonica grapes."

Zalto Denk-Art Bordeaux Glass
The Bordeaux glass is recommended for weightier style reds, probably our most widely used glass when tasting in house, this glass is great for many different wines. The large bowl helping aerate and soften tannins whilst accentuating the wine's depth and concentration. The Bordeaux glass is the ideal choice for Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Zinfandel, Bordeaux or Rhône style blends and many other red wines. Surprisingly, it is also the glass of choice for oaked Chardonnay, the shape of the bowl accentuating the balance of ripe fruits and oak.
The son of Israeli and Norwegian parents, Bibi Graetz is a real Italian at heart having been born and raised in the winemaking region of Tuscany. A trained artist, he took up winemaking in 2000 having had no formal oenological skills but at his disposal was a manageable 2 ha of vineyards on his parents’ estate, Castello di Vincigliata. Immediately soaring to the heights of the Tuscan winemaking cognoscenti with his first vintage, his small production of just over 10,000 bottles annually make them some of the most collectable in Italy. In addition to fruit sourced from his hillside vineyards in the town of Fiesole, old vine, organically farmed grapes are brought in from around the region to supplement the needs of the estate. As such the wines only qualify for IGT status but are still some of Tuscany’s finest. All of Bibi’s wines are made with traditional varieties having resisted the modern fashion of using small proportions of cabernet sauvignon and or merlot. His Soffocone di Vincigliata comprises a blend of Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo which are aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and French barriques for over a year. The resulting wine encapsulates Sangiovese’s characteristic sour cherry and violet flavours framed by toast, coffee and vanilla notes from the small oak barrels. The Soffocone di Vincigliata label caused a stir in the US when it was revealed that its imagery reflected the popularity of the vineyards amongst young couples.
