Château Angélus

Angelus is owned and run by two cousins, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, and Jean-Bernard Grenie and is rated alongside Château Cheval Blanc, Château Ausone and Château Pavie with its Premier Grand Cru Classe status – (the only four in the appellation). Critics talk of the solid consistency of the quality of these wines and Neal Martin states that  ‘even the off-vintages had their own virtues’.  The 2005 vintage was awarded 100 Points by Robert Parker, who calls it the ‘magnificent, majestic vintage of Angelus’. However this is not the only high scoring wine, with the 1990 and 2000 vintages taking 99 points and the 2009 and 2010 vintages scoring 99+.
