Reynella - Giesen Wines - Château Cos d'Estournel

Château Reynella Winery, Australia

The historic estate of Reynella was established in 1838 and is now considered by many to be the birth place of the South Australia wine industry. John Reynell planted some of the first vine in McLaren Vale, becoming the first family to grow grapes for commercial winemaking in South Australia and the oldest wine business in the region. The winery was bought in 1982 by Thomas Hardy who’s first job in South Australia was at Reynella in 1850, helping John Reynell tend to the original vines.
