Glaetzer-Dixon - Château Grand Puy Lacoste

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste sits in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux and being one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, it is steeped in a rich history. The vineyards are planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot with many of the vines having an average age of almost 40 years. In 1978, the château owner Raymon Dupin, sold the property to the Borie Family, who were renowned for their fantastic wines at Ducru-Beaucaillou and Haut-Batailley. Today the estate is owned and run by François-Xavier Borie. "I do what I love, what I believe in. We want to build Grand-Puy-Lacoste's renown on consistent quality rather than showy effects. I'm suspicious of wines made for competitions; I prefer that Grand-Puy-Lacoste create a reputation based on the long term, vintage after vintage. Pretentiousness, fleeting fashion and short-term media attention is not what we do."
