99 Points - James Suckling "The aromas here are so spellbinding with shitake mushrooms, wet earth and moss, as well as tree bark and, finally, dark fruit. The palate is incredible as it builds and grows with full body, but always tight and reserved. It shows so much depth and complexity. Please try not to touch this until 2025."

From the very low-yielding '09 vintage, estate-grown and a selection of the best barrels; clear, bright red-purple, the wine is an exercise in harmony, with positive contributions from each of the black and red berry fruit, cedary oak, and positively silky tannins.

Less intense than both the ’02 and ’07, however the palate is well-balanced on the entry with fine citrus lemon, grapefruit and just a hint of spice. Good weight and quite linear towards the finish but great persistency. Drinking now.
