Château Malartic Lagraviere

Château Malartic-Lagravière is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The château was bought from the famous Champagne house Laurent-Perrier by Belgian couple Alfred-Alexandre and Michèle Bonnie in 1996. The estate not only produces high quality reds, but also a Sauvignon Blanc-dominated white wine. The winery at Château Malartic-Lagravière was designed by renowned architect Bernard Mazières in 1998, who has designed many famous wineries in Bordeaux including châteaux Petrus, Mouton Rothschild, Latour and Gruaud Larose to name but a few and even others across Europe, such as Masseto in Tuscany. The vat room is also highly innovative with a mixture of conical wooden and stainless steel vats all set out in an octagonal layout. Today the estate is run by Alfred-Alexandre and Michèle’s son and daughter-in-law, Jean-Jacques and Severine with Michel Rolland and Athanase Fakorellis as consulting oenologists. The Château also has second wine, La Réserve de Malartic Rouge (previously known as Le Sillage de Malartic).
