Château Prieuré-Lichine is winery in the appellation of Margaux in Bordeaux. Alexis Lichine bought Château Prieuré in 1951. He already owned Château Lascombes (also in Margaux) and changed the name in 1953 to Château Prieuré-Lichine. After his father’s death in 1989, Sascha Lichine took over the estate and ran it with the help of oenologist Michel Rolland until it was sold to the Ballande Group in 1999. The 68 hectares of vineyards of Prieuré-Lichine are spread across Margaux and are split between Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The château has a second wine called Château de Clairefont (also called Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine since 2008).
