97 - 97+ - Stuart McCloskey “This unfurls beautifully delivering scents of cedar, sage, bay leaf, olive, clove, minerals, blackcurrant, and blackberry. Graphite too which, and if you bring the aromatic symphony together, reminds me of a Pauillac. That said, and with a little more aeration, I sense more of a Burgundian personality. The palate unfolds gracefully to a wonderful medley of cranberry, raspberry and a little blackcurrant, which flow seamlessly into cedar, bay leaf and more graphite. The textural smoothness and harmony draws me back to my Burgundian comparison – the tannins are whispery and super-fine. Everything here is so precise, so pure and unforced – it reminds me of a graceful heron taking off and slowly gaining altitude before disappearing out of sight. A perfect trajectory is perhaps the point I am trying to make. There is a lot to love about this Aussie Cabernet. Fans of our previous offering (the 2013) will be delighted with this. Drinks fabulously now (decant for 1-2 hours) and will live on for another 5+ years however, I personally believe it has reached it apogee… Served using Zalto Bordeaux glassware.”

Decanter "Bottle-aged for 18 months at a depth of 60 metres under sea, this cuvée is composed of one-third Pinot Noir from Villers-Allerand, one-third Chardonnay from Montgueux and one-third Pinot Meunier from Chamery. Fresh, floral nose with a sea tang to it, but also a bit of reduction just after opening. The palate is elegant but incredibly taut, while the taste has an alluring oxidative element interacting with its white fruit. This is a Champagne that will shine at the dinner table."

98 points - Decanter "Disgorged June 2019. 100% Chardonnay. Zero dosage. With notes of pear, menthol, gentle spices, and a hint of smoke, the bouquet impresses from the start thanks to its powerful aromatic complexity. With its dense, fleshy texture, this is a superbly flavourful Champagne propelled by very fine bubbles. Here again, there is a hint of reduction on the palate just after opening, but freshness soon comes to the fore, enhanced by a touch of mint on the finish. Power and length underpin this very great Champagne. Bravo!"
James Halliday "37.5% shiraz, 35% mourvedre, 27.5% grenache, a mix of open and stainless steel fermentation, basket-pressed, 65% matured in 2500l French vats, 35% in used French oak for 16 months. As long as you are prepared to patient, this is a very distinguished Barossa Valley blend, taking it right up to McLaren Vale. Spiced red and black fruits leap from the glass on the bouquet, following through onto the fore-palate. The tannins need more time to soften, and will do so well in advance of the fruit diminishing."
