The famed Graves First-Growth, Château Haut Brion needs little introduction, the same can be said for La Mission Haut-Brion – Stuart has been working with both Châteaux since the release of their 2000 vintage (We are listed as one of their preferred UK merchants’ which is a nod to Stuart’s excellent relationship with them). Clarendelle, which I am sure is new to most (even hardened Bordeaux buyers’) is skillfully blended by the team at first-growth Château Haut-Brion. It is made primarily from grapes within Pessac-Léognan (including some from Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion), Saint-Émilion and the Haut-Médoc. In 2005, Prince Robert de Luxembourg created the first premium brand of Bordeaux wine: Clarendelle, named in honour of his great-grandfather, Mr Clarence Dillon. Inspired by Haut-Brion and produced by Clarence Dillon Wines, in conjunction with the winemaking team from Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion, Clarendelle is a family of blended wines made from traditional Bordeaux grape varietals. Through the creation of Clarendelle, Clarence Dillon Wines and Domaine Clarence Dillon wish to shed a new light on the tremendous potential and savoir faire of this region, with which, they have set a benchmark for the entire world...
