Predominantly a blend of Marsanne with roughly 20% Roussanne from the l’Ermite, Les Rocoules, Maison Blanche and Peleat lieux-dits. Stunning viscosity – so rich on the palate with a smörgåsbord of flavours ranging from white peach, orange marmalade, honeysuckle, honeyed citrus oil and all supported with extraordinary precision. Truly one of the world’s greatest wines.

The de Fieuzal Blanc has a lifted, perfumed bouquet with touches of dried orange peel and apricot blossom that are well defined and vigorous, perhaps leaning slightly to the New World (though there is nothing wrong with that.) The palate is well balanced with crisp green fruit, lemongrass and orange zest that builds to a vibrant, satisfying finish. This is a superb white from the estate.

Pale yellow in colour with mineral characteristics on the nose and notes of white flowers and honey. Beautifully balanced, rich and textured this is a wine of exceptional potential.

Well-structured and concentrated with layers of fruit and an inner-core of minerality. Perhaps lacking the definition of the '99 but a delicious wine nonetheless. Drinking now.

An absolutely textbook great white Graves made from 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon and aged nine months on its lees, this is a prodigious effort displaying notes of white flowers, currants, honeyed citrus, fig, and crushed rocks. The wine is very pure, with full body and high acidity, in a backward, almost tannic style. Give this wine at least 8-10 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 30 years. Tasted Feb 2009

The 2013 Chardonnay Golden Slope is incredibly inviting, with superb balance between some of its more overt, oily textures and the underlying minerality that lies in the background. A host of white orchard fruit, apricot, honey and spice nuances open up as this plush, silky Chardonnay shows off its alluring, racy personality.

More oaky than most, but showing plenty of buttery, honeyed, complex melony and citrus notes, this wine is medium to full-bodied, tasty, fresh and impressive. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2035.

Bright, gleaming straw-green; an impeccably groomed wine, shirt tucked in, not a hair out of place, intensity, balance and length of a high order. Trying to pinpoint the flavours is akin to chasing a rainbow, slipping through your fingers.

Grapefruit and citrus notes on the nose. Well-defined, intense and well-balanced palate with subtle mineral notes. Quite tight and defined with balance and length. Stony / mineral notes on the finish. Excellent quality and drinking perfectly now...

This has a much better bouquet with tangible minerality and tension - some fine crisp Sauvignon Blanc here and superb delineation. The palate is nicely balanced with lime, orange peel and citric notes whilst the finish shows comparatively more weight and presence than its peers. Fine.
