D1 London Gin successfully combines traditional craft with contemporary art to create an incredibly smooth and versatile premium gin with quintessential British flavours and aromas.
Produced once or twice per year, depending on their ability to source the quality of casks. Rare and old, it’s something special for both the collector and the new whisky enthusiast. Hedonism is unusual in the Scotch whisky world: a blended grain Scotch whisky, it is rare to see 100% grain whisky bottlings in Scotland.
The Spice Tree is made from 100% malt whisky sourced from northern Highland distilleries, (notably and primarily malt whisky distilled in the village of Brora). The primary maturation is in a mix of first-fill and refill American oak. Big, sweet aromas of clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. The palate is full, round and sweet, with the spice and vanilla complementing the core distillery characters and leaving a long finish.
Oak Cross is aptly titled because it offers the best characteristics of both American and French oak aging. A rich, medium-bodied blended malt Scotch whisky, Oak Cross combines vanilla characters from American oak and spicy, clove-like characters from French oak.
Dense colour, young rim, nicely lifted red and black berry fruits, good supple/succulent fruit on the palate, nice touch of new oak, an elegant, well-structured and quite classy wine.

This 2013 Shiraz St Henri follows in the blockbuster footsteps of the 2010 and 2012. The blend is 96% Shiraz with 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and the fruit sources are far and wide, including a real mix of terroirs: McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Padthaway and Port Lincoln...

A mesmerizing, thrilling Champagne, the 2002 Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart is a great example of the vintage at its best. Silky and racy on the palate, yet a bit more restrained than many wines of the year, the Nicolas François Billecart remains vivid and remarkably nuanced. Brioche. apricot jam, wild flowers and honey are some of the many notes that blossom as the Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart shows off its voluptuous personality. The 2002 is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.
Cuvée Nicolas François is made from solely Grand Cru fruit sourced from the classified Côte des Blancs vineyards (Chardonnay) and the Montagne de Reims (Pinot Noir). Its vinification, partially in traditional oak casks, underpins the generous character of this fine, elegant and rich wine. The balance of a tension controlled by the blossoming of the wine (preserved peaches, fine apple tart and lemon verbana tea) and embodied by the line of noble flavours (fresh figs and exceptional teas). It maintains a consistency reflecting a distinct personality and retains a power controlled by a well integrated low dosage.

There is certainly great purity and terroir expression on the nose: blackberry, briary and background scents of fresh raspberry and cold stone. The definition is very impressive. The palate is interesting – quite different from the previous vintages. I love the tannins here – very fine but lending the Pontet-Canet great backbone It is utterly harmonious but I feel more understated, perhaps more controlled than recent vintages. The finish is much more introspective – a Pauillac politely informing you to go away and wait before bottling before making any judgement! This is a divine Pontet Canet - very succinct.
