Glaetzer Wines nestled in the Barossa Valley is steeped in family history and have been producing premium wines from within the region ever since Colin Glaetzer establish the winery. Colin learnt his winemaking skills overseas and in many of Australia’s well known wine regions. He is responsible for creating E&E Black Pepper Shiraz and The Ebenezer range of wines. It was until 1995 that he and his wife together with their sons establish Glaetzer Wines under the family name. Their first vintage was released in 1996 and ever since ‘Glaetzer’ has become a household name.
It is now Ben Glaetzer who is the driving force behind the winery, having worked on the site for so long and during holidays when he was younger. His ability to blend traditional techniques with a modern flair and using minimal intervention is reflected in the style of these wines. Ben has won many awards for his efforts including; Robert M.Parker Jnr Wine Personality of the Year’ and ‘Qantas Young Winemaker of the Year’ among others.
