Shiraz Reserve is a wine of great depth and complexity. Only pristine fruit from the three best Shiraz sites go into this wine. Typically taken from ultra-low yielding patches making up to 15hL per hectare, Shiraz Reserve offers a wine of immense intensity without the heaviness typically associated with such a wine. Matured in predominately new French oak for 26 months prior to bottling, with the occasional American oak barrel being introduced when quality permits. Shiraz Reserve is a wine crafted to be consumed up to 25 years after its vintage.

Winemakers notes on the 2015 vintage "The 2014/15 growing season was slightly dryer than average, yet yields were good across all of our vineyards. Naturally high acid levels delayed harvest until the fruit was balanced enough to be picked. Flavour came in later than usual, resulting in high sugar levels but lovely complex fine flavours."

Region

Situated due North of Australia’s capital, Melbourne, the Heathcote region sits nestled between the Goulburn Valley and Bendigo region, in Central Victoria. Wine from this region stands out due to the perfect combination of warm climates and cool, southerly winds mixed with its ancient rich, red Cambrian soil. The region has become renowned in recent years for its Shiraz, which tends to be complex yet well-balanced. As well as Shiraz, the other red varieties such as Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon do well here, with whites such as Viognier and Chardonnay becoming increasing popular. From the Heathcote region, we have a selection of wine from two of its best wineries, Wild Duck Creek and Tatiarra.

Zalto Denk-Art Universal Glass

For richer, oaked Sauvignon Blancs such as The Fuder, white Graves or Semillon/Sauvignon blends. For young and non-vintage Champagne we recommend Zalto Universal. However, the Zalto Universal is a very good all-rounder, designed for all types of wines but may not maximize the potential of certain wine as much as the Bordeaux or Burgundy glass.
