The Napa Valley is situated in the Northern Part of California and is known as the ultimate wine country. The majority of production of US wines comes from California, and the Napa Valley has over 500 wineries along this 30 mile long, picturesque valley. The climate, soil, and topography here are simply perfect conditions for the valley’s legendary Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel wines. (Amongst many others!) Wines from the Napa Valley are often thought of as some of the finest in the world with a host of iconic wines and producers located here. Located to the east of the much larger Sonoma, the Napa Valley has unique conditions being situated slightly inland but experiencing influence from the coast through cool morning fogs that are channelled through the valley cooling the vineyards. The region is home to many iconic producers, Louis M Martini and Beringer being early pioneers of Napa and Orin Swift also locates some of the finest vineyard sites in Napa to produce several of their cult wines.
