Surely the most exciting news to come out of New Zealand’s wine scene for quite a few years...

We are so thrilled to finally break the radio silence after strict orders from Michael Brajkovich. This has been incredibly difficult, as we have been privy to their sparkling creation since last year. Anyhow, and without further ado let us unveil Kumeu River’s Crémant...

 The Blend

  • 40% Hunting Hill Pinot Noir.
  • 60% Chardonnay from Kumeu River vineyards.
  • The base wine being their superb 2006 Estate Chardonnay.

 The Crafting

  • The grapes have all been hand-harvested and carefully whole-bunch pressed, with the free run juice being fermented with wild yeast in tanks.
  • Bottle fermented using traditional methods.
  • Aged on the lees for 30 months.
  • Disgorged and dosed by hand.
  • Bottled: August 2013.
  • Disgorged: May 2016.

Kumeu River Crémant

A mere 2,000 bottles have been produced however, we have been reliably informed that the Brajkovich ladies, Melba and Marijana have enjoyed it far too much and plan to keep a sizable stash for themselves (in truth, we do not blame them as it's utterly sensational). Only 300 bottles are heading to the UK and we have been selected to offer 180 bottles to our customers.

Price - £26.95 per bottle
