Rich, ripe cabernet sauvignon is carefully selected at harvest from the best Pentley Estate vineyards and picked at its optimum. Small batches are hand worked in open fermenters and then barrel fermented and aged in oak for 2 years. The resultant wine is a powerful concentration of intense cabernet fruit and tannins, with balanced smoky oak.
Soil-inflected aromas of plum, chocolate, cedar, smoke and earth. Supple and creamy in the mouth, with rich, ripe plum and chocolate flavours leavened by liquorice, herbs and mint. Offers a restrained sweetness and subtle depth. Finishes long and sweet, with excellent breadth.
