Axel Heinz, Winemaker "On the nose it expresses intense and refined notes of mature citrus fruit, exotic fruit and white flowers. On the palate it is fleshy and juicy with a vibrant, crystalline fruitiness which perfectly reflects the sunny, but not excessively hot year. The long lingering fruity finish leaves the palate clean and fresh. "

Zalto Denk-Art White Wine Glass

The White Wine glass is perfect for crisp, vibrant, dry whites and aged Champagne. The glass is superb for many different types of white wine which do not require as much aeration.  The shape of the glass is focused on the precision of the aromas. This is the perfect glass for many varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, Viognier, unoaked Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay.

Ornellaia a stunning Estate in Tuscany produces some seriously super-Tuscan wines, some amongst the greatest wines in Italy and even the world. Having just celebrated its 25th year of production, the winery's bottles are showing signs of increasing demand at auction as a result of their hard work and simple philosophies. The production philosophy of the Estate is based on the belief that wines must be the most faithful expression of the terroir that produces them. Their respect for the Estate's unique territory guides all aspects of production; limited quantities or ensure maximum quality, attention to every detail, selective hand-harvesting, micro-vinification and ageing.

The Tuscan wine region is situated on the Tyrrhenian coast, in the centre of Italy. Like much of the country it has a rich wine making history. Tuscany also has a number of appellations within the region including over thirty Denominazioni di origine controllata (DOC) and at least 7 Denominazioni di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG). Red grape varieties thrive here taking 70% of the region’s production. The Italian Sangiovese grape is king here and the quality of the wine it yields depends heavily on the exposure and particularly on the altitude at which it is planted. From Tuscany, we recommend either the smooth yet full bodied Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto 2012 or for something a little more decadent, the 2006 Fattoria Petrolo Galatrona made from 100% Merlot from the Petrolo Estate.
