Reynella's Basket Pressed Shiraz is ‘a quintessential McLaren Vale Shiraz… Dark, brooding fruits of blackberry and Satsuma plum intermingled with bitter dark chocolate and endless ripe tannins that carry the wine right through. A perfect cellaring option, or if you prefer your fruit big and bold, enjoy now’. The wine is ‘fashioned from small parcels ex individual vineyards, open-fermented in the state of the art McLaren Vale winery, basket-pressed by the 100-year-old press, then matured in American and French barriques before final blending after 16 months’.

Château Reynella Winery, Australia

Region

McLaren Vale is situated south of The Barossa Valley in South Eastern Australia. The local climates vary enormously according to altitude and exposure to the cooling sea breezes. Red grapes flourish here due to the warm climate and varied soil type and the region is best known for soft and juicy Shiraz, old-vine Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The climate is similar to that of the Mediterranean climate with four clear seasons. We can highly recommend the producers Kay Brothers, Clarendon Hills and Shirvington Estate from whom we have some fantastic wines.

Zalto Denk-Art Universal Glass

For richer, oaked Sauvignon Blancs such as The Fuder, white Graves or Semillon/Sauvignon blends. For young and non-vintage Champagne we recommend Zalto Universal. However, the Zalto Universal is a very good all-rounder, designed for all types of wines but may not maximize the potential of certain wine as much as the Bordeaux or Burgundy glass.
