Region
The Margaret River is situated in South Western Australia, about 200 kilometres south of Perth. This area may grow less than 5% of the country’s grapes but it produces a very significant proportion of the country’s best wine. The climate is Mediterranean, meaning that it is warm enough to make some brilliant Bordeaux blends and Cabernets, yet cool enough for elegant Chardonnays and Semillion. Margaret River is made up of mainly smaller, boutique producers with over 215 vineyards across the region. One of our favourite producers is from this region; Stella Bella wines. We can highly recommend Suckfizzle Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon which is made from grapes from a single small vineyard in Augusta, Suckfizzle.
