95 Points - Joe Czerwinski (erobertparker.com) "Sourced from Clare Valley, the 2016 Shiraz Heartbreak Hill Roach Road Hut is a terrific wine, not out of place at all among the Barossans in the Two Hands line-up. Loaded with raspberry fruit and dried spices, it’s full-bodied, supple and long, with fine-grained, silky tannins that caress the palate. Remarkable, given the vines are only 12-13 years old."
94 points - Jeb Dunnuck "The inky colored 2016 Shiraz Heartbreak Hill Single Vineyard comes from the Clare Valley which is north of Adelaide. This region is mostly known for Riesling and consists of a north-south running valley and a continental climate (cool/cold nights and warm hot days). Its deep purple color is followed by a concentrated yet elegant Shiraz that offers plenty of black and blue fruits, dark chocolate, and crushed rock/mineral aromas and flavors. Picking up more violet and spice nuances with time in the glass, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a silky texture, beautiful purity of fruit, and a great finish. This beauty shines for its finesse and elegance and has enough tannin to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age. It will keep for over a decade."
