Barossa Super 100 Classification – Wines over $100
93 Points - Jay Miller (erobertparker.com)
The 2007 Shiraz Zippy’s Block from Roennfeldt Road in the Marananga sub region of Barossa Valley, is a brooding, burly wine with a splendid nose of plum, tar, liquorice, smoke, game, and blueberry. On the palate it is surprisingly restrained, bordering on elegant. Savoury, ripe, and medium-long; approachable now and drink well for a decade thereafter.
94 Points - Josh Raynolds (Antonio Galloni)
Glass-staining ruby. Pungent, intensely spicy bouquet displays blackcurrant, cherry-cola, cherry skin, tobacco, smoky minerals and dried rose. Surprisingly energetic and fresh on the palate, with a subtle mintiness to the sweet, almost crystallised red and dark berry and bitter cherry flavors. Taut and energetic on the sharply focused finish, leaving a complex trail of fresh red fruits and flowers behind.
