World's Best Vineyard

Akitu, in the Maori language, means the summit, the apex or the highest point, which is a fitting name given their vines are 380 metres above sea level. The wine is named Akitu because at 380 metres above sea level they are right up there, right on the grape growing edge, against the alps and in the southern most winemaking region on earth. Their entire vineyard is dedicated to the fickle mistress, Pinot Noir and the very best of their harvest makes Akitu.

Extraordinarily, they have waited over a decade for their vines to settle and to start to present their wonderful true character.
