Tassie sensation:
“Creating award-winning sparkling wine can only be mastered by perfecting the craft, the patience to allow the wine to mature at its own pace and the experience to know when it is at its best.”
ED CARR
“Arras is made by a quietly spoken genius, Ed Carr, whose name should be known around the world. He is, by some considerable distance, Australia’s greatest sparkling winemaker.”
JAMES HALLIDAY
Tasmanian sparkling wine extraordinaire, Ed Carr of House of Arras is simply one of the very best. His unremitting pursuit for excellence, passion and skill firmly placed Australian sparkling wine on the global wine map. Ed is highly respected amongst all vignerons and the wine world as a whole. I joined Ed in London when he received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine Championships. He was the only non-champenois winemaker to receive the award, a testament to the world-class credentials of House of Arras wines.
2007 was the last Rosé vintage we offered (Feb 2020 if my memory serves me well). Essentially, a change in EU legislation relating to acceptable residual levels of a contact fungicide called Iprodione, which is the active ingredient in a spray used against botrytis, dropped from 20mg/L to a microscopic 0.01mg/L. This new law put a stop on all new shipments.
Today, we have the pleasure to offer Ed’s 7th release, the 2014 Rosé which is a blend of Pinot Noir (75%) Chardonnay (25%) – All fruit is sourced from Tasmania (Coal River Valley, Derwent Valley, Pipers River and East Coast).
The new collection is released to Vinorium customers well ahead of the European market, which is rather exciting. Equally, and for one-week only – introductory prices are being offered and well below each wine’s, new global RRP.

Characters of spice, natural yoghurt, lemon meringue, fresh oyster and truffle are expressed throughout the palate.
