Magdalena Sienkiewicz “This is Gaja’s first release from their Sicilian sites located on the ridges of Mount Etna. It was Angelo’s dream to produce wine from those ancient, volcanic soils and finally, we have the thrilling unveiling. 

What a gorgeous perfume! The glass bursts with sweet mulberry, figs and tantalising sour cherry. Interestingly, I sampled this wine using both Zalto Bordeaux and Universal glasses. The Bordeaux glass reveals more complexity on the nose with gentle earthiness, violets and blue ink underlining the cascading fruit, while the Universal glass emanates with sweet berries and figs. The wine is such a joy to swish around the palate with Morello cherry and dried herbs. I love the gentle tart delight the IDDA brings. The tartness balances the array of berry fruit retaining great freshness on the palate. It’s impressively long, as its persistency delivers in a fine, soft caress. It’s utterly delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the long summer evenings. A real treat from Gaja without the extravagant price tag that many of their superb and fine wines retail at.”
