Stuart McCloskey "The bouquet is jam-packed with blackcurrant, damson, plum, mocha, vanilla-coffee, cedar, tobacco, curry spice, licorice, cold steel and mint. It’s impossible not to notice the ‘marine’ influence which provides a further layer of complexity and a real point of difference. Black olive tapenade and sea kelp emerge with more aeration. So characterful and very impressive… I find too many Malbecs heavy however, this is medium-bodied, the fruit is wonderfully fresh and has a lovely flow of uninterrupted flavour. I love the lick of cooling graphite that wraps around the ripe fruit. Everything feels cool and pure… Black licorice, minerals, blackberry, anise, violet, rose hip and a smidgen of espresso complete the impressive flavour lineup. The tannins are lacelike and acidity provides a line of succulence. Effortless and seamless – this just flows without interruption. Very, very impressive. I could imagine myself devouring glass after glass along with roasted duck or goose… Drink now to 2035. Decant for 2-3 hours. Served using Zalto Bordeaux stemware."
