Stuart McCloskey, February 2025 “Picked and sampled straight from the warehouse (perfect temperature - on the cool side, but not too cold). The bouquet offers enormous appeal with stone fruits, citrus, fresh pineapple, sweet spice, spiced pear (think stock syrup), a smidgeon of fresh ginger, bags of minerality along with sea salt. This oozes pedigree and only gets better with more time in the glass. You must doff your cap to Rob’s control of the acids, texture and flavour, with everything working in perfect, balletic harmony. The cooling Yarra Valley defines this wine – beautifully elegant, but not at the expense of flavour or length (both are very impressive). Flavours fanout as does the tickle of spice. I love the mineral driven finish. All-in-all, this is flawless, multi-layered, and very, very impressive. One of the standout samples of ’24 and will undoubtedly be one of the standout Chardonnay’s this year. Drink now to 2030+. Served using Zalto Burgundy glassware. DO NOT overchill…”

Philip Rich, Halliday.com “From Harriet's Vineyard in Healesville. Barrel fermented and matured in seasoned hogsheads and puncheons. A full, bright green gold. Ripe clingstone peaches, citrus zest and ginger snap can all be found on the bouquet of this nicely put-together chardonnay. The palate is textured, flavoursome and balanced, and there's a fine thread of acidity running through the wine that refreshes the palate. Nicely done.”

Rob Hall, Winemaker “A lovely version of Harriet’s Vineyard Chardonnay, tiny quantity bottled.  The fruit is predominantly from the cooler, south west facing block. The aromas are a complex mix of floral aromas and leesy nuttiness complemented by some lingering citrus and flint.  The palate is well structured, with grape phenolics (rather than oak) providing the backbone, finishes very clean.”
