In Bond Wine Storage
We are determined to provide the best possible care for your wines and therefore your wines are stored with one of the UK’s leading specialists for the secure storage of fine wine, London City Bond and their Eton Park bonded facility (formerly Vinotheque), Derby Road, Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 1RY. We recommend you buy “in bond” as this allows you to defer the payment of duty and VAT until you decide to have your wines delivered. This is particularly important if you are buying wines for future resale. When you purchase a wine in bond, it needs to be stored in a secure and temperature controlled, bonded warehouse.
Storage charges are per 9 litre case per year; £11.95 ex VAT and inclusive of full insurance. Please contact us if you’d like to transfer your wine to another bonded facility and we can advise you of the transfer costs involved.
Temperature and Humidity
The temperature and humidity within Vinotheque shuttering make certain that wines develop in a carefully controlled atmosphere. Constant monitoring ensures that all wines are matured in ideal conditions.
Vinotheque is physically secure and protected by a state of the art intruder alarm system. The heavy oak doors boosted by state-of-the-art CCTV cameras that monitor every angle and corner of the building, inside and out, protects the major banks and high value businesses elsewhere in the area – has 24/7 security patrols, and there are, of course, all the usual security checks and monitors on all staff and visitors to and from the site.
As with any expensive asset, it is foolish not to insure it properly. All our client reserves are fully insured (to full replacement value). A copy of the policy is available upon request.
Wines from your collection/portfolio can only be removed from Vinotheque with written permission from yourself. For the avoidance of doubt, The Vinorium cannot remove or sell your wine without your express written consent. Clients are also welcome to visit Vinotheque and their wine collection by prior arrangement.
